Michael Firestone

Michael Firestone is a litigator and business advisor who has represented companies and individuals in state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings in a broad range of commercial matters, including complex contract and fraud cases, business divorces, real estate litigation, securities litigation, and claims for breach of fiduciary duty.  Michael also represents individuals in the formation of business entities, with a particular focus on the drafting and negotiation of shareholder, partnership and operating agreements.  Michael was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” for Business Litigation in 2020, 2021 and 2022 in New York Metro SuperLawyer Magazine.

A graduate of New York University School of Law, Michael began his career in the litigation department of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. He then joined the leading international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP where he spent nearly eight years working on a diverse array of cases, such as litigation arising out of a billion-dollar management buyout, representing a private equity company in connection with claims for securities fraud, and representing the estate of Lehman Brothers in connection with various disputes arising out of its historic bankruptcy. Before starting Firestone Greenberger PLLC, Michael was the founder of Firestone Law PLLC, where his practice focused on representing privately held businesses in commercial disputes and individuals seeking to legally separate their interests from their business partners.

Michael has lectured on the topic of business divorce, and he is the author of an article of the management of limited liability companies under New York law.
